Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is one of the oldest casino games. The game of chance does not require any complicated strategies. The game is more popular in some areas than others. Here are some rules to observe when playing Baccarat.

The standard deck of 52 cards is used for the game. The deck is usually between a 6 and an 8 deck shoe.

The player ahs to buy chips by placing cash on the table layout. Like in any other casino game, the dealer can not take money from the player’s hands.

The value of the cards is as follows; an ace is valued at 1, the cards from 2 to 9 are valued at their face value and the face cards and 10 are valued at zero.

Two hands are dealt regardless of how many players are at the table. One is the banker hand and the other the player hand. Players may bet on either hand. However, the player that is holding the shoe has to bet on the banker hand or pass the shoe. The objective is to bet on the hand with the highest total value.

The player holding the shoe then has to pass one card, face down. The stand up dealer then passes that card to the player with the largest bet.

Another card from the banker hand is placed next to the shoe.

The shoe holder then has to deal another player card and a second banker card.

The player with the largest bet is first to look at the cards that are passed by the dealer.

When the cards have been returned to the dealer, the total point of then value is announced.

If the value of the point total is 8 or 9, then the result is natural and no other card is drawn. There are rules that are used to determine whether a third card should be called by the dealer. Here are those rules;

Players third card rules

If the total of the first two cards from either the player or the banker is not natural, then a third card is drawn.

If the total of points from the player is less than 5, then a third card is drawn.

If a third card is not drawn by the player, then the bank stands on 6.

Banks third card rules

If the point total from the banker hand is 2 or less, then a third card is drawn regardless of the player’s third card.

If the point total is 3 for the bank hand, then a third card is drawn except when the player draws an 8 on the third card.

If the total is 4, a third card is drawn unless the third card from the player is a 0, 1, 8 or a 9.

A total of 5 would lead to a third card draw except when the player has a third card of 4, 5, 6 or 7.

A total of 6 for the bank leads to a third card except when the paler has a third card of 6 or 7.

When bank has a total of 7, then the bank stands.
